Water Polo

Water Polo in the United States is quite popular. Most high schools in the country offer an interscholastic program which allows student-athletes to participate in competitions at the district, regional and state level.

Club water polo programs are available all year round for men and women in a large number of states in the country. The highest level of water polo in the US is played in California where there are over two hundred registered clubs.

Water Polo club tournaments run nationwide throughout the year and the largest and most popular event is the National Junior Olympics which takes place in California every year in July. This event serves as a great opportunity for athletes and teams development, as well as a showcase for College and University coaches who attend the event in hopes to find those athletes that could potentially join their school teams in the future.

At the college level, varsity WP programs for women are offered in sixty two schools and for men in forty two schools among three collegiate divisions.
